Thank you to all participants of the 2024 RTCM Annual Assembly & Conference for helping us make such a successful event.

The theme for this year's Assembly was "The Future of Maritime Communications and Navigation," featuring presentations by leading technical authorities, key government professionals, and industry representatives engaged in the development and management of maritime electronic systems. Sessions covered developments in satellite and terrestrial maritime communications, shipboard and shoreside electronics, autonomous systems, as well as relevant technical standards and policy issues.

The RTCM program began on Monday afternoon, May 6th with a two-day technical program, an evening reception, and more.  The rest of the week included the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) Task Force meeting, the 406 MHz Beacon Manufacturers Workshop with presentations by NOAA, Cospas-Sarsat, the USCG and other experts and Special Committee meetings on EPIRBs, PLBs, Electronic Charting and AIS.

For those interested in digitalization in the maritime community with a focus on activity in North America, they were invited to stay for the Digital@Sea North America Conference on May 8th and 9th.

Throughout the week, time was given to allow Attendees to engage and interact with speakers, fellow professionals, and representatives from RTCM's 140 member organizations.  RTCM Special Committees meet regularly throughout the year and this annual event presents an excellent opportunity to learn about relevant technical and policy topics in radio and satellite communications and electronic navigation systems.  There are opportunities to share your experience, interact with key decision-makers in the maritime community and help shape the future of maritime communications and navigation systems.  For more details about RTCM please visit our homepage or contact us at [email protected].
