Monday, September 23, 2019 to Tuesday, September 24, 2019
Category: Special Committees

The next meeting of SC104 will be in Trondheim 23-24 September.  The attached document (SC104 - 190923 - Getting to Seatex.pdf)  was kindly provided by our host Stig Erik Christiansen and provides information on Trondheim and Kongsberg Seatex headquarters. I look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,

Robert Snow, Chair SC104

The September meetings will be held at Kongsberg Seatex AS in Trondheim, Norway.

SC104 Dates:  September 23 – 24

The local hotels are experiencing a high level of occupancy and it is recommended that you make hotel reservations as early as practical.  Please see page 5 of the attached for a list of nearby hotel.

Some general guidance about the hotels and local travel:

There are plenty of hotels to choose from. All within walking distance. The closest is Clarion Hotel Trondheim located 50 m from us. Scandic Nidelven is also very close, and a little closer to the downtown area. It has also won the “Best breakfast award” for the last 10 years.

The hotel rates vary depending on when you book, but Kongsberg Seatex AS has agreements with some of them.  You may (or may not) be given a discount if you ask for the “Kongsberg rate”.

Unless you want to stay outside the city center, Kongsberg does not recommend renting a car.  Walking or public transport is quicker and far less expensive.

One hotel referenced, but missing contact information is the Britannia hotel at Dronningens gate 5, which has just opened after being closed for 2 years.  It is very nice, but maybe more expensive than the others.  At last check the Britannia showed ‘sold out’ for the week of the meetings, but may be available for select nights.

A follow up email distribution will be made for each Special Committee, individually, with additional details and a request for members to register their intention to attend the meeting in Trondheim.
